Elijah is my full-of-energy next-door neighbor. Such a special happy little guy. All my mainland friends who visit love both Elijah and brother Jonah. This week Elijah is eight years old. He loves outdoor life from little bugs to the big universe. I got him his first telescope for his birthday. He was so excited … except the first thing he did was point it at a neighbor’s window … opps.

There is virtually no air or light pollution on Maui. The sky is deep blue and the night universe is big and bright. That’s why there are several telescopes on top of Haleakala – one of the leading astronomy observatories on Earth. We are blessed on Maui to be in the middle of the Pacific Ocean a way from much of the chaos of life.

Remember, we are only on Earth for a short time. Be an explorer and enjoy the adventure on your road traveled.
